Tips on Creating a Website that Sells

Tips on Creating a Website that Sells
By Julie Blake

  • Before you design your site, define the objectives and goals of your website! This will save an incredible amount of time, money and energy. Our coaching sessions will break this process down into very small manageable steps.
  • Design your website to appeal to your fans and target audience.
  • A splash of flash is fine...just don't over do it! Many people still have a dial up connection and it will take too long to load.
  • Websites that have the best sales are clean and very easy to navigate. Find a balance between a really cool design and professional enough to build credibility so that people will feel comfortable to purchase from you.  (While an all black background is a very cool look, it does not inspire confidence and credibility).
  • Choose fonts that are common and easy to read for the content in your website. Use cool looking fonts that are not as easy to read sparingly.
  • Look at your website on as many different computers as you can to see how the colors appear and how readable your text is. You'll may end up a bit surprised to see what others are viewing!
  • Your "header" (the top image that shows on every page) is a great place to display your name and one-liner about what you do or the kind of music that you play.
